The Genesis was a cruise ship that was owned by Azure Line. The ship sailed from San Francisco, California to Tokyo, Japan.
History[]
Harry Helmsley and Tony Delgatto performed on the ship as they sailed from San Francisco to Tokyo. However, when it neared the Japanese seaboard, the ship capsized when a mega-tsunami hit as a result of underwater earthquakes, presumably killing everyone onboard.
Trivia[]
- In an alternate ending of the film, the Genesis was shipwrecked on a small island somewhere near southern Africa with three known survivors, Harry, Tony, and the captain of the ship. It's unknown if the ship was scrapped or repaired after the disaster.
- The Genesis’ design is much more likely primarily based off of Royal Caribbean cruise ships.
